The Face

All I needed was a face. Not just any face - your face.

When I wake up and the sun pierces through my blinds and bleeds itself across my eyes to begin the rude awakening. At least I have you there. Your smile nullifies the annoyances and alleviates the irritations.

When I spill my coffee and burn my toast. At least I have you there. You laugh at me playfully to let me know that it's all right. I realize all of it isn't all too bad when I have your hair bobbing about in the kitchen.

When my boss tells me my work is equivalent to the void that he makes me feel, coming home to you makes it not matter. The light to my life and the meaning to my existence. I can only ask for you to keep being you.
