Uprooted Love

Plant it by the wayside, watch it drink in the light.

My precious, you wait for love to come to you, rooted in place. You stay there unwilling to move, you hope and pray everyday that she will shine her light down on you, that you may grow and flourish. You wish for her warm glow, you see her radiance touch those around her and yet you cannot feel the warmth. Your leaves shrivel and your stalk wilts, slowly the isolation is destroying you.

Everyday you face disappointment, wasting away because of your own stubbornness. She passes you by day by day. You cannot blame her for she is unable to see you, hidden in the shadows. A flower cannot bloom without sun, you know this, yet still you refuse to uproot. You are too comfortable in the shade, away from the difficulty that comes from the sun's gaze. It is cool here, it is easy.

Your choice is simple, the change required is not. Stay and die or move and struggle, love can be found only if you look for it.
